SL - The Clock Tower Revisited

Description

Drawn by J

A remake (somewhat) of [link] . Our story has matured in the past year, and our characters and setting have solidified a bit more. Rather than a world of its own, the story now takes place in Cherbourg, Normandy, France, in 1725. Stephen is now named Stephan (the correct French spelling; "Stephen" is too English). Hopefully the art has matured a bit too! LOL :P

I wanted to practice more drawings of characters interacting with their settings. I used an 18th century woodcut of Cherbourg as reference for the buildings, but I still totally botched them. And naturally here's Stephan in the clock tower; probably the only place where he can contemplate the very big decisions he must make. He's trying to get by, but at what point will his morality supersede his survival instinct?

Herp derp what are anatomy and perspective? Ew, ew, ew. Mucky colours, too. Memo to self: practice more.

:bulletred:Stephan and all non-historical elements of SL belong to ~dotsweare, so please do not steal!
:bulletred: Oh and the composition was inspired by [link] ; if it's too similar I'll change it

Ooh, I was looking for the clock tower picture and happily found that you remade it ^^ ^^^ Ooh , that's awesome  that you've narrowed it down to specifically in Cherbourg, France ^^ and even that date. OO It must take an immense amount of research to get it to that specific a location and time ^^

LOL, your definition of botch is a little different from most peoples, lol, ::gapes in awe.:: THat totally looks like the architecture of 18th century France, the windows like that, I like the trees dotting the corners of the wide, paved streets. ^^ And oh wow, that beautiful, open sky with the clouds parted as if making a path to the unknown. Stephan's hands, wow : DDD, I like he's looking down on the city, in an isolated loner way, how is legs are crossed he seems like a laid back guy. I wonder what he's thinking or feeling, he seems to be hiding his feelings from the audience at the moment. : D
